Wednesday, May 9, 2001 Avery Park to host Ultimate Kitchen Tour Avery Park, a master-planned community in historic Newnan, will host the Ultimate Kitchen Tour May 19 & 20 and 26 & 27 from 11:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. on Saturdays and 1:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. on Sundays. The free tour will showcase eight trend-setting kitchens in homes ranging in price from the mid $100s to over $300,000. Featured kitchen designers and suppliers include Williams-Sonoma, T.S. Edwards and Co., D. Hopkins Interiors, Kay Graham Designs, Jerri Adcock, Karen Harman, Design Pizazz, LaDecor, Carolyn Holley, Peach State Furniture and Paige Howell of Chadwick Interior. According to interior designer Pat Hopkins, president of D. Hopkins Interiors in Newnan, the kitchen has become more than a place to cook and eat. "The kitchen has evolved into the central gathering place in the home," says Hopkins. "From entertaining to e-mailing, the kitchen has become a multi-use area. And the Ultimate Kitchen Tour at Avery Park demonstrates this wide range of applications." Avery Park's variety of kitchen plans is complemented by its selection of home styles, ranging from turn-of-the-century to traditional to custom, and its assortment of recreational opportunities. Amenities include walking trails and pedestrian paths, a competition-size swimming pool, tennis courts, community parks and a commercial Village Square.
