Southland Chorus concert May 19

The Southland Chorus is making preparations for its upoming show "Broadway Musical Flavors and a Little More," scheduled for May 19 at 7 p.m. at Ferrol A. Sams Auditorium in Fayetteville.

Other performers that evening are expected to include the Wise Guys, an international quartet competitor from Florida; New Chips Off the Block, an excellent quartet from the Stone Mountain Chorus; and the fourth-grade singers of Huddleston Elementary School.

Advance tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors. Tickets may be purchased at all three Gold's Gyms in Fayette County, the Fayette Book Shop in Fayetteville, from any Southland Chorus member or by calling 770-228-2023.

Some of the songs being sung by Southland include "Give My Regards to Broadway," "Let a Smile Be Your Umbrella," "I'll Be a Song and Dance Man," "I Believe," "Rock-a-bye My Baby," "The Lord's Prayer" and "The Battle Hymn of the Republic."

Also on tap is Southland's annual guest night and award presentations May 24 at a location yet to be determined. This is the chorus' biggest effort to recruit new voices. Men of all ages, young and old, are invited to come out for an evening of fun and song. And, it's free.
