Impact fees to get action Wednesday?
By
DAVE HAMRICK
Fayette County commissioners today will consider final action on impact fees to help pay for new fire stations and other fire services needs. The group tabled the impact fee matter at its March 22 meeting, to wait for action from all the local cities involved so that its approval would have the correct effective date. The fees are charged to developers to help defray the costs of new government services made necessary by their developments. It has taken more than a year to put develop a plan for impact fees, which are designed to shift some of the cost of new government services in growing counties and citiesto future residents. Commissioners meet at 3:30 p.m. at the County Administrative Complex.
