PTC policeman shot in left calf during training
A Peachtree City police officer was injured last Friday when a weapon accidentally discharged during a training exercise. According to a police report, Cpl. Gary W. Meier, 30, was struck in the left calf muscle by a bullet during training at the firearms range on McDonough Road in Fayetteville. Meier was taken to Fayette Community Hospital where he was treated and released, according to the report. The incident has been ruled accidental by police, according to the report. A police spokesman could not be reached for comment by press time Thursday. John Munford
