Registration approaches Kindergarten registration will be Saturday, April 28, from 8 a.m. to noon at each elementary school. Parents must register their 5-year olds at the school in their attendance zones. Each child must be present for the registration. Kindergartners must be 5 years of age on or before Sept. 1. At the time of registration, parents will need to bring the following: the child's Social Security card; birth certificate; hearing, vision, and dental certificate; and an immunization certificate. The immunization certificates can be obtained at the Coweta County Health Department or from your pediatrician. A birth certificate is required before the child can enter the first day of school. It is extremely important that parents register their children for kindergarten so that adequate preparations can be made prior to the opening of school, said a spokesman. The first day for kindergarten is from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Aug. 9. Kindergarten students have access to the regular bus lines, breakfast, lunch, and the After School Program. For information, call the Office of Curriculum and Instruction at 770-254-2810. For information on school district lines, call the Office of School Transportation at 770-254-2820.
