The Jim Friday and the Asden Johnson youth protection homes have the power to change a life.

They do just that by providing safety and healing to children who are victims of abuse or neglect.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and everyone is being asked to support these children in fund-raising efforts for the 2001 Fayette Youth Protection Home's Power Parade, April 16 - 20.

The Power Parade, conducted as a power walk and fund-raiser in physical education classes at Fayette County schools, is endorsed and supported by the Fayette County Board of Education.

Pledge envelopes were distributed this week, and youngsters who collect more than $25 will receive t-shirts designed by Danielle Roache, a student at Fayette County High School.

Classes with the most participation will get prizes such as pizza parties, ice cream and skating parties, school supplies and more.

For information, phone 770-716-8420.
