Fulton's Fore Kids Golf Classic aids innovative teaching

Metro area golfers tee off for education at the seventh annual Fore Kids Golf Classic at Crooked Creek Country Club in Alpharetta April 30.

Sponsored by the Fulton Education Foundation and Beers Moody construction, the golf outing includes lunch, a 1 p.m. tee-off, and a recognition reception at the end of the day.

Prizes will be awarded for milestones, including the best team and individual scores, corporate challenge winners, winners of the putting, closest to the pin, longest drive and straightest drive contests.

Tournament proceeds benefit Fulton County School System students through the Education Foundation's MiniGrant program for innovative teaching projects and scholarships for education degrees in critical needs areas.

Last year's tournament netted almost $30,000 of financial support for students and teachers. Golf Classic organizers hope to raise $50,000 in proceeds this year.

Openings for team and individual players are limited. Call the Fulton Education Foundation at 404-763-6772.
