Quick response with units in the area helped the Peachtree City Police Department spoil a home burglary on Prestwick Lane Monday morning.

When officers arrived on the scene, witnesses said three males tried to enter the home and fled into the woods behind the house, police said. All three were eventually caught by police in three different areas after the incident, which was reported at 8:45 a.m.

Burglary charges have been lodged against all three suspects: Corey Eldridge, 17, of Peachtree City; Giancarlo Moreno, 18, of Fayetteville; and Joshua Rex, 18, of Fayetteville. Eldridge and Rex were also charged with obstruction of a police officer.

According to an incident report, a hand hoe was used to shatter a glass door that gave the three access to the screened porch of the house. No items were reported missing, the report indicated.

Capt. Stan Pye of the Peachtree City Police Department said officers on the day shift did a good job in establishing a perimeter around the area to contain the suspects.

"We had two cars that were pretty close by the location," Pye said. "And we had several others on that side of town also. ... It worked real well."

One of the suspects was pinned into the Rockspray pond area with no way to get out because of the officers' alertness, Pye added.
