New airport parking facility opens

The Parking Spot, the fastest-growing near-airport parking facility in the United States, will celebrate its grand opening this week.

The Parking Spot, formerly Park Space, offers more than 1,200 covered parking spaces, more than any other near-airport parking company servicing Hartsfield Airport, according to company officials.

The facility has a total of 2,430 spaces with both open parking and covered parking. It covers 36 acres and provides shuttle service in the Parking Spot's distinctive yellow and black spotted shuttles directly from the guest's car to the airport terminal with luggage assistance.

Upon return, the guests are picked up at the return terminal of the airport and dropped off at their cars. In addition, a complimentary USA Today is given to customers when they enter the facility. Cookies also are available as a snack for the plane ride. The firm's staff will also provide battery jump starts if needed, as well as tire inflation and tire change assistance.

Parking rates are $9 per day for open parking and $12.50 per day for covered parking. Prices are less than main terminal parking at Hartsfield Airport. Corporate discounts and frequent parking programs also are available.

"With the rapid growth in air travel at Hartsfield, the time is right for the Parking Spot to supply a needed service of near-airport parking," said Kernell Watson, Parking Spot's facility manager.

"In addition to offering state-of-the-art parking services, we are providing a stress-free parking solution where you can catch a flight within minutes."

The firm has 12 facilities serving nine airports in seven cities. They are currently in Dallas (three locations serving DFW and Love Field), Atlanta, Houston (two locations serving Bush Intercontinental and Hobby Airports), Kansas City, Los Angeles, Oklahoma City and St. Louis (three locations).
