Good resigns from Airport Authority
By JOHN
MUNFORD David Good, one of the founding members of the Peachtree City Airport Authority, has resigned. Good, who has been serving as the authority's chairman, tendered his resignation Friday. Airport Manager Jim Savage said Good resigned partially because he has a personal interest as a property owner in the Jet Limo parcel, which contains an easement he wants to continue using for access to the airport. Good had planned to resign soon anyway, Savage explained. According to his resignation letter, Good said he is planning to move to the west coast where he currently has a boat under construction. Savage said Good plans to live on his boat in Alaska, where he used to live, although he will maintain his property here in Peachtree City. Cathy Nelmes, who was named to replace Good as chairman, said he will be missed. She lauded his work on the authority over the years in making Falcon Field what it is today. H.E. Buffington will remain in his role as the authority's secretary-treasurer, and the hunt is already on for a new authority member to take Good's position, which would have expired this year anyway, Savage said.
