Forrest Homes on the rise

Forrest Homes Inc. announced a record-breaking year in 2000, more that doubling its record of home sales during the previous year. The company closed 175 homes in 2000, compared to its first-year total of 85 in 1999.

Forrest Homes, which is currently building homes and developing communities in Clayton, South Fulton, Cobb and DeKalb counties, has grown to 12 communities at various stages of development at this point in 2001 with substantial additional growth projected.

The sales pace has accelerated in 2001, and Forrest Homes projects 300 closings this year. Four new communities Timber Ridge in Cartersville, Camden Forrest in South Fulton County, Trotter's Farm in South Fulton County, and Kendrick Forrest in Clayton County are opening between now and the first of June.

In order to maximize efficiency and production, Michael Adamson, president and founder of the Forrest Homes organization, has formed Forrest Realty as the in-house marketing arm of the company.

Headed by Director of Sales and Marketing Mark Hyre, who has been involved in the rapid growth of some of Atlanta's best-known home-building firms over the past two decades, the new marketing company will have Mark Adamson serving as broker and also coordinating lending and closing activity.

Hyre said that Rose Lummert, who has worked with the organization for the past several years and whose experience in this capacity "will be essential," is sales manager.

Founded in September of 1998, Forrest Homes emphasizes the building of high-quality, affordable homes in a neighborhood setting, using only the best materials and suppliers available.

The company has already won top awards in both 1999 and 2000 in the Professionalism Awards competition sponsored by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders and the Sales & Marketing Council, and the marketing representative of one of its communities was named Sales Associate "Rookie of the Year" by the Greater Atlanta organization. Forrest Homes has already earned qualification as a Certified Professional Home Builder.

Perhaps best known for its aggressive finance programs allowing homeowners to move in for only $999, Forrest Homes is poised to become a very significant player in the metro Atlanta home building industry.

Forrest Homes, which has corporate offices in Alpharetta and Jonesboro, is headed by Adamson, who has previously held executive positions with Colony Homes and Brayson Homes.

Prior to working for a total of six years with these large home builders, he operated his own mortgage loan company for four years and also worked with Southern Highlands Foundations and First National Bank of Atlanta.

Forrest Homes, which has an executive management team of six and a total of 32 employees, also has an in-house mortgage company, Longstreet Mortgage Inc.

Michael Adamson is also the president and founder of Home Buyers Assistance Foundation, a nonprofit organization created to provide potential homebuyers with down payment assistance, as well as pre and post purchase education.
