A 16-year-old Fayetteville girl and her parents are being sued by the victim of an auto accident the youth was involved in on Sandy Creek Road in December.

Lydia Anne Farman, along with her parents, Bruce and Leanne, is being sued for damages by Larissa Beth Tackett, who is seeking unspecified damages. Farman, who was turning off Sams Drive, had pulled in front of Tackett's vehicle, which was traveling on Sandy Creek Road, according to the accident report filed by the Fayette County Sheriff's Department.

The suit alleges that Farman operated the vehicle in a negligent manner and that her parents, who owned the 2000 Ford Mustang, also are liable. The suit claims that Farman was using the vehicle at the time for "family purposes."

A lawsuit represents one viewpoint of a particular incident or series of incidents. The suit was originally filed last week and a response has not been filed with the court yet.

Although the suit doesn't specify the amount of damages being sought, Tackett's attorney, Eric K. Maxwell, indicates that compensation is sought for bodily injuries, pain and suffering and medical expenses.

Farman had been charged with failure to yield at a stop sign. Alcohol tests on both drivers, which are normally administered in serious accidents, both came back negative, according to a report from the Sheriff's Department.
