A McIntosh High School student was arrested by police in the Wynnmeade subdivision last week after a curfew check of local youths turned up that he illegally possessed a loaded handgun, according to a report from the Peachtree City Police Department.

Jeffrey Aundra Walthall, 18, was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon and carrying a pistol without a license, the report says. Four other juveniles in the area of Wynnmeade Parkway and Meadow Road were cited for violation of curfew, the report indicates.

When the officer reported to the scene, he began checking the ages of the juveniles. At some point thereafter, Walthall threw a handgun from the driver's side window of the car he was driving and the gun landed on the pavement next to the car, a 1992 Acura Vigor, according to the report.

The gun, a .380 Fratelli Tanfoglio model, was later recovered by police.
