Peachtree City Clerk Nancy Faulkner has resigned from her position effective today.

Faulkner, 34, told The Citizen Thursday that she intends to attend paralegal school so she can seek a career in legal research.

"I'm going to take my career in a different direction, but I'll still be around," Faulkner said, adding that she will be available if city officials need to contact her for assistance in the future.

Employed with the city since 1989, Faulkner has served as city clerk since May of 1995. She hopes the city will continue aggressively with its records management program, even though "there's a long way to go still."

Faulkner also said she has made many friends at City Hall and she feels her fellow employees make the city work well.

"I have been proud to be a part of this team," Faulkner said.
