Guilty pleas entered in two separate child molestation cases

Two local men pled guilty in court Wednesday to child molestation charges stemming from two separate incidents.

Troy Wayne Bell, 59, was sentenced to 20 years in prison followed by 10 years on probation after pleading guilty to child molestation. He was accused of touching the genitals of a 3-year-old girl.

This is the second time Bell has been convicted on child molestation charges, it was noted during the hearing.

Michael Lynn Cain, 43, was sentenced to 20 years in prison followed by 10 years probation after pleading guilty to child molestation and aggravated sodomy. The incident involved a 9-year-old boy.

The mother of Cain's victim told Superior Court Judge Christopher Edwards that the guilty plea would allow her son to "move on."

"We are very grateful that my son doesn't have to go through any more of this," she said.
