PTC to developers: no more permits until light is moved
By JOHN
MUNFORD Peachtree City is cracking down on developers for the delays in relocating the traffic light on Ga. Highway 54 from Wynnmeade Parkway to MacDuff Parkway. The city has informed developers of the Summit Apartments and the Cedarcroft subdivision on MacDuff Parkway that no more certificates of occupancy will be issued until the light is operational at MacDuff, City Planner David Rast said. "We're just trying to encourage them to finish it up," said Jim Williams, the director of developmental services for Peachtree City. Several weeks ago, the city issued a certificate of occupancy for one apartment building and the main clubhouse for the Summit Apartments. It could take between 45 and 60 days to relocate the light, Rast said. But that's after the contract is actually signed to perform the work, he added. So far, that contract has not been executed, Rast told the Planning Commission Monday night. Once the light is relocated, the city plans to make the intersection of Hwy. 54 and Wynnmeade Parkway a right-in, right-out intersection.
