Fayette GOP set to meet this weekend The Fayette County Republican Party will convene precinct mass meetings Saturday morning to elect delegates and alternates to the Fayette County Republican Party Convention one hour later. The convention will convene at 10 a.m. in the commons area at Sandy Creek High School in Tyrone, right after delegates and alternates are elected at the 9 a.m. meetings at the same location. The county convention convenes for the purpose of electing delegates and alternates to the Third District convention and state convention, as well as electing officers for the Fayette County Republican Party. Registration will be $5 and all Fayette County residents who are legally registered to vote and believe in the principles of the Republican Party are urged to participate in this process. The Third District convention is scheduled for April 7 at 10 a.m. at Northgate High School, 3220 Fisher Road, Newnan. The Georgia Republican Party's convention will convene May 4 in Atlanta.
