MUNFORD
A local woman has been charged with misdemeanor vehicular homicide relating to an accident that occurred Aug. 11 on Ga. Highway 92 North near Hickory Road. Charlotte Ayala Jiricek, 41, of Fayetteville was also charged with failure to maintain lane. She turned herself in to authorities last week and was released on $1,060 bond. According to the warrant filed for her arrest, Jiricek unintentionally crossed the center line. The accident occurred on Aug. 11 just after 6 p.m. when Jiricek's vehicle crossed the center line and struck a Jeep Cherokee driven by Carolyn H. Moore, 54, of the Fairburn area, according to an accident report filed by the Fayette County Sheriff's Department. Both vehicles overturned after the collision, according to the accident report. Prior to the wreck, Jiricek's vehicle had left the shoulder of the road, the report states. Moore was pronounced dead at the scene. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, according to the report. Other passengers in both cars survived the crash. Jiricek and her two daughters were taken to Fayette Community Hospital with minor injuries. Martha Hicks, 76, a passenger in Moore's car, was flown to Atlanta Medical Center with minor injuries.
