Investigation of Coweta murder leads to arrest of PTC woman

A Peachtree City woman is one of three suspects Coweta County sheriff's deputies have arrested in connection with the discovery of human remains near a residence on Gary Summers Road in April of last year.

Pamela Michelle Buchanan, 27, of Peachtree City has been arrested for conspiracy to commit murder and conceal a death. Her husband, James Montgomery, 29, has been arrested and charged with murder.

The remains were later identified as being those of 23-year-old Matthew D. Schleidt of Fulton County.

Law enforcement officials are tight-lipped about the case so far. An incident report indicates that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been assisting Coweta County Sheriff Mike Yeager with the case.

The dive team from the Fayette County Sheriff's Department helped search Lake Peachtree in Peachtree City last week to assist in the investigation. It is not known whether or not they were looking for the murder weapon or whether it was recovered.
