Grady Huddleston dies

Grady Huddleston, 77, Fayetteville, died Feb. 16,2001. He was the son of the late Robert and Emily Pope Huddleston, and was reared in the Clover community of what is now Peachtree City.

He created the state of Georgia Merit System which he oversaw for over 20 years. He later served as a Fayette representative in the state Legislature for 15 years.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
