Drew Hartley achieves Eagle Scout rank
Drew Hartley, son of Robey and Teresa Hartley, was honored Sunday recently with an Eagle Scout Court of Honor. Hartley has been a Scout since 1990. He was a Cub scout in Pact 75 and is a Boy Scout in Troop 175, both sponsored by the Peachtree City United Methodist Church. Hartley was recognized for his leadership in his troop, school and church. In addition to earning ranks and merit badges, his accomplishments include an Eagle Scout service project consisting of planning, building and installing a school sign for the Peachtree City Elementary School. He coordinated the project with city officials, utility companies, Principal Rebekah Maddox and David Laird, owner of Architectural Concrete company. Scouts form his troop helped raise money and build the sign. Hartley also is active outside the troop. He attends the church and is a varsity athlete at McIntosh High School. He also is a peer leader assigned to Kedron Elementary School.
