Two more liquor licenses get OK
By MONROE ROARK
It took a mere 15 minutes for the Fayetteville City Council to cover a reasonably light agenda Thursday night, with two new alcohol licenses granted and several ordinance amendments approved. Longbranch and El Parian restaurants are now approved by the city for the sale of distilled spirits. Both applications were approved unanimously with no discussion, and no representatives of either restaurant were present at the meeting. Council also approved a traffic signal interconnection project agreement with Georgia Power and a contribution of $5,000 to the Fayette County Development Authority for its land use fiscal impact study. Contributions from the other municipalities in the county also will be earmarked for this project. Small revisions in the city's speed ordinance (a name change for a street) and sign ordinance were approved, along with amendments to the storm water management ordinance (detention pond fencing materials) and the alcoholic beverage ordinance. A rezoning request for Compass Financial Services, from R-30 residential to office-institutional for 335 North Jeff Davis Drive, was approved.
