More retail stores have signed on to be a part of The Avenue at Peachtree City, which is slated to open March 29. At that time, it will become one of the largest retail areas in Peachtree City. The buildings, located near the intersection of Ga. highways 54 and 74, will encompass a total of 175,000 square feet. Lisa Simmons of Cousins Properties said this week that there are an additional four leases out for signature of companies whose names could not be released yet. But she did name 10 new stores that will be located at The Avenue, including: Ann Taylor Loft Jos. A. Bank Clothier Bombay Company Kirkland's Home Stride Rite Shoes Talbot's Chico's Casual Clothing Williams-Sonoma Powertel Marble Slab Creamery (an upscale dessert and ice cream shop) Previously, Cousins Properties announced that a Gap clothing store and a Harry's in a Hurry gourmet grocery store would be the anchor tenants, with both sized at over 10,000 square feet. Other tenants already signed on include Bath and Body Works, Victoria's Secret, Banana Republic, Children's Place, Claire's Boutique, Atlanta Bread Company, Ritz Camera, Yankee Candle, The Athlete's Foot, Starbucks Coffee and the Thomas Kinkade Painter of Light Gallery. While The Avenue At Peachtree City will cater to a more upscale clientele, it won't be the biggest game in that area of town for long. Wal-Mart plans to locate a Supercenter farther west on Hwy. 54 which would be 204,000 square feet. The largest commercial center in Peachtree City currently is the Braelinn Village retail center, at over 200,000 square feet in size. That includes the anchor stores there of Kroger, K-mart and Blockbuster Video.
