Windows broken at Tyrone Blimpie

The Blimpie sandwich shop in Tyrone was damaged sometime Sunday night or early Monday morning likely by someone with a BB gun, police said.

Three window panes to the business were shattered, although none of the projectiles pierced the second pane of the double-pane glass, said Tyrone Police Chief Roger Spencer. No one was in the store at the time the vandalism took place, he added.

Officer Tim Morgan discovered the broken glass at approximately 1:30 a.m. Monday morning while he was conducting checks of local businesses, Spencer said.

Spencer said it's likely that a BB gun was used, because a pellet gun would have pierced all the way through the double-pane windows.

"Some kid just probably got a BB gun for Christmas," Spencer said.
