Fayette students heading for inaugural
A number of students from Fayette County will be headed to Washington in two weeks for the inauguration of President-elect George W. Bush. Selected by the Close Up Foundation in Washington, D.C., the participants will participate in a one-week program of government studies and inaugural events. The students will join about 4,600 Close Up participants from across the nation for daily debates, discussions and activities. The group will attend seminars on Capitol Hill and meet government officials, political figures, lobbyists and a representative of the press corps to learn more about the federal process. Teachers will accompany the students as participants in the program, as well. Attending from Fayette County High School are Allison Bryant, David Bush, Stephen Fluegeman, teacher Russell Fuller, Phillip Hill, Renee Kurland, Jessica Martin, Megan McGrath, Sean Norwood, Darran Price, Kathryn Price and Erin Wolfe.
