Food, fun and football--it's what Super Bowl Sunday is all about.

Local fans in search of eats and excitement have a variety of restaurants to choose from including Fayetteville's newest gem, Ruby Tuesday, at the corner of Pine Trail and Ga. Highway 85 south, across from the entrance to the Fayette Pavilion.

Patrons of the national chain recognize the restaurant as an ideal place to enjoy a variety hamburgers and sandwiches, or a special entree featuring sirloin, chicken or seafood. A signature salad bar appointed with every imaginable ingredient can either serve as a healthy meal, or complement any menu item. There are soups, wonderful bread sticks, and a selection of diet-blowing desserts that even the most calorie-conscious diner can't resist.

Ruby Tuesday's Peachtree City location has been a longtime favorite of locals. The new Fayetteville establishment borrows some of the nostalgic touches of all the Ruby Tuesday restaurants, but is brighter, with a full bank of windows stretching across the front of the building.

A young and eager staff is trained and ready to take your order.

Kevin Brake, managing partner of the Fayetteville Ruby Tuesday, pointed out the 19 televisions mounted in strategic locations around the restaurant, ideal for football viewing.

The appetizer menu includes a nice selection of starters and snacks for munching during the game, such as spicy buffalo wings, spinach con queso, fried cheese sticks, potato skins and chicken fajita quesadilla. The super sampler platter features chicken tenderloins, potato skins and fried cheese sticks.

Beer and wine are available every day except Sunday at the Fayetteville location, according to local law.

For those of you who would rather be armchair cheerleaders, game-watching munchies can be as simple or special as you choose to make them. Potato chips and French onion dip are always hands-down winners. Add a bowl of pretzels, and some drinks instant party.

There are also many simple-to-prepare recipes that will make big points with your guests. Try a few of the dips in fanciful shapes listed below for a great late season finale.
