School board heads to retreat By JOHN THOMPSON The Coweta County School Board has a busy retreat set for this weekend. School officials are meeting in Auburn today to get various updates on the school system's progress in the last year. "We've got some new board members, so this will be a good informational session for them," said Superintendent of Education Richard Brooks. The board will receive updates on curriculum, instruction and a report on operation and construction. During this afternoon's session, board members will have a chance to discuss any topics that concern them. "They may talk about a possible new SPLOST," Brooks said. The retreat ends Saturday morning with an executive session for personnel, real estate and litigation.
