Peachtree City Police have apprehended a former city resident accused of robbing two people at gunpoint at the night deposit area of the Bank of America on Crosstown Drive Nov. 16.

David Ryan Garza, 18, was arrested Friday and charged with armed robbery and possession of marijuana. According to police, the employees were making a deposit for a local retail store that Garza used to work for.

The gunman wore a mask and a sweat suit, according to original police reports. He got away with cash and checks which were in a plastic bag.

Garza had recently moved to Detroit, but investigators lured him back to Peachtree City before he discovered he was a suspect, police said. Garza was arrested without incident when he returned to a former roommate's house to pick up some of his personal property, police said.

At the time of the robbery, Garza was still living in Peachtree City, police said.

The investigation, which is still ongoing, involved cooperation with other jurisdictions. The focus now will be on looking for any possible co-perpetrators and other leads that have been received, police said.

The investigation was described as "extensive" by police, and it has included the execution of several search warrants and surveillance operations.

Police also posted a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone involved with the crime.
