It was 28 years go that the Peachtree City Christian Church began with 33 people, who purchased three acres of land in 1975 at the corner of Wisdom Road and Riley Parkway.

In only 23 more years, land was purchased at Kedron Drive in north Peachtree City and a 500-seat sanctuary was built.

George S. Dillard III serves the church as senior pastor and Tom Morgart serves as associate pastor, ministering to the senior adults.

Due to growth, a new staff member has just been added, Sean Kelly, who ministers to children from birth to fifth grade. Also serving are Derec Sweatman, minister to the youth, and Cindy Schneider is the administrative assistant.

This past summer the church teens attended a conference in South Carolina for a week and the adults attended several retreats in Atlanta and Warner Robins. The seniors have a title that betrays their status in life, the "Rough Riders."

Next summer they will be helping out at an Indian reservation, teaching Bible classes and helping in construction.

The church is especially looking forward to being the center of a study Feb. 17. It will be an all-day training session by the Serendipity Publishers, who specialize in publications on small group ministries. This event is open to the public, just call the church and let them know you are interested.

In conjunction with this theme, there are a number of home Bible study groups that have been meeting in members' homes for a number of months. The leaders have all been trained in the "Serendipity" method.

This coming February will find a change in the worship schedule: worship services will be at both 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Bible study will also be at these times.

Wednesday evenings there is dinner at 6 p.m. and Bible fellowship follows at 7 p.m.

The church is at 500 Kedron Drive and can be reached at 770-
