Irish Village development underway

The first homes are nearing completion in Irish Village, a new single-family residential community off Senoia Road in Tyrone.

With homes priced from the high $100,000s to the upper $200,000s, Irish Village will have 20 brick homes located on one-acre plus homesites. The main street into the community is Irish Lane, which runs off Senoia Road in the town in Fayette County.

Irish Village, which was named to reflect Tyrone's Irish heritage, is a short walk from both Tyrone Elementary School and Crestwood Christian Academy, and the community is connected to the town's cart path system. It is served by county water, natural gas and underground utilities. Financing for the development work and construction of the first two houses was provided by Fairbanco.

The home builder in Irish Village is Fred Jones of Jones Builders Inc., who has been in the business since 1982 and has built in such prestigious locations as Peachtree City, Whitewater Creek, Eagle's Landing and Griffin Country Club.

The developer of the community is FGP Development LLC, whose partners are Phil White and George E. Mason.

White, a longtime business and civic leader in the Metro South area, is past president of the South Fulton Rotary Club and South Fulton Chamber of Commerce and serves on the board of directors for the Georgia Division of the American Cancer Society.

Mason, who will also handle marketing for the community, has been in real estate for 23 years and is an associate broker with Re/Max Results in Peachtree City. Former broker/owner of Mason Real Estate in Tyler, TX, he is a member of the Re/Max Hall of Fame and an Active Phoenix Member of the Fayette County Board of Realtors. He is active in civic work in Fayette County.
