F'ville teen hurt when car leaves road, strikes pole By JOHN
MUNFORD
A Fayetteville teen received minor injuries when her car left the road, rolled over and struck a utility pole off Redwine Road Sunday morning. It took emergency crews over an hour to free Amanda Rae Meredith, 17, of Fayetteville, according to Maj. Wayne Hannah of the Fayette County Sheriff's Department. She was taken to Southern Regional Hospital where she was treated and released, Hannah said. Meredith was wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident, Hannah confirmed. Meredith's 1996 Chevy Cavalier was headed south on Redwine Road near Panther Path when it left the road. As she steered back onto the pavement, the car went into a counter-clockwise spin before leaving the other side of the road and traveling up an incline, Hannah said. The car began to roll over but came to rest when its roof struck the utility pole, Hannah added.
