News Briefs This month's meetings of the Fayetteville Planning and Zoning Commission may not be necessary. City officials and commission members are trying to determine whether to hold Tuesday's workshop and the regular meeting set for Dec. 19 (one week earlier than usual this month due to the holidays). Two of the three agenda items have been scrapped and the city was to have decided by Friday whether to wait on the other one until next month. The commission meets the second and fourth Tuesday or each month at 7 p.m. at City Hall. The Sandy Creek High School Chorus will present its holiday concert Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Flat Creek Baptist Church in Fayetteville. The program, which includes a variety of sacred and secular choral music of the season, features all four SCHS choruses and is free to the public. While the football playoffs are still in full swing for the Starr's Mill Panthers, basketball season is getting started. Starr's Mill hosts McIntosh Tuesday night in varsity hoops action, with the opening tip set for 6 p.m. The Fayette County High
School choral department will present its annual holiday concert
Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Sams Auditorium. Admission is free. All choirs
are set to perform a full slate of holiday favorites. A performance at
Phipps Plaza for all choirs was scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 9. Select
chorus alumni are invited to a reunion party Sunday, Dec. 17, at the home
of Josh Kirby. Directions will be available at Monday's concert.
