Court Action

The following people entered guilty pleas in Fayette County Superior Court Thursday afternoon before Judge Paschal A. English Jr.

Brenda Arnold, for theft by receiving stolen property and theft by shoplifting. Sentenced to five years probation and a $700 fine.

Joy Wanless, for violation of the Georgia controlled substances act (possession of cocaine). Sentenced to Five years probation and a $500 fine.

Bernadette Lanette Raines, for theft by shoplifting, forgery in the first degree and giving false information to a police officer. Sentenced to five years probation, with the first year on intensive probation, and a $700 fine.

Carl Hassell, for three counts of forgery in the first degree, one count of financial transaction card theft and one count of violation of the Georgia controlled substances act (possession of marijuana, less than one ounce). Sentenced to two years in prison followed by three years probation and a $1,500 fine.
