Fayetteville to get new traffic light

The state's Department of Transportation has approved a traffic signal at Ga. Highway 92 south and Jimmie Mayfield Boulevard, City Manager Joe Morton reported at Monday night's Fayetteville City Council meeting.

Saying that the light was "very much needed" at that location, Morton added that city officials are negotiating with the state concerning the project's funding. While there is hope that the state will pick up the tab, it is possible that the city will have to participate in the funding, Morton said.
