Evening school registration underway

Students who wish to register for evening classes at the Coweta County Evening High School for the second term (January through May) may do so between 12:30 and 3 p.m. on the following dates at the respective high schools:

Tuesday, Dec. 12 at East Coweta High School.

Wednesday, Dec. 13 at Northgate High School.

Thursday, Dec. 14 at Newnan High School.

Thursday, Jan. 4 at the Central Educational Center from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

After Jan. 4, a late registration fee of $15 will be charged.

The CCEHS is housed at the Central Educational Center.

Coweta students aged 16-20 who have not earned a high school diploma are eligible to enroll full-time for no tuition. Courses are available in the academic disciplines of mathematics, science, English, and social studies.

Classes meet for 18 weeks, in one-hour and 55-minute blocks from 4 - 9:55 p.m., Monday through Thursday. One Carnegie unit is earned for successful completion of each 18-week course. The Coweta County Evening High School will not issue a diploma but will transfer credit to the student's home high school.

An "extended day" option is available so that high school students attending any of the three Coweta high schools can take one extra class at CCEHS, to get back on track for graduation, with approval from their high school counselors.

The cost for the extended day option is $300 per course, due at the first class meeting.

Some courses may require a $15 lab fee. Out-of-county residents may take courses at the CCEHS for a cost of $500 per course.

For information phone Margaret Vann at 678-423-2000.
