Walk-a-thon to benefit children's hospital

A walk-a-thon to benefit the Shriner's Children's Hospital is scheduled for Saturday at 10 a.m. at Fayette County High School.

Sponsored by the Fayette Shrine Club, the walk will provide funds to treat children with orthopaedic problems, severe burns and spinal cord injuries free of charge.

Shriners have been helping children for 78 years and in the last year alone, the organization aided 180,000 patients. This year's budget is $540 million.
