Fayette County Republicans won't have their usual first Saturday breakfast Dec. 2.

Instead, they'll have a Christmas party Monday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. The event is sponsored, so there's no charge to participants. Prospective members and the general public are welcome.

The county Republican Party and the Greater Fayette Republican Women are hosting the festivities.

You can make comments on the Atlanta Regional Commission's 2002-2004 Transportation Improvement Plan at a public meeting Dec. 1. ARC is the official planning agency for the 10-county Atlanta region.

Transportation officials will make presentations highlighting their list of priority projects.

Comment cards will be distributed and a court reporter will be available to document comments after the meeting. Comments also can be made by e-mail to opinion@atlantaregional.com or by fax to 404-463-2354.

The meeting will be 9:30 a.m. to noon at ARC headquarters: 40 Courtland St. (corner of Courtland Street and Auburn Aveue) in the amphitheater on the C level.

The Fayette County Development Authority's board meeting will be Thursday, Nov. 30 at noon in the board room at the Old Courthouse.
