Volunteers sought for daffodil, tree plantings

The dates have been set for the Peachtree City Beautification Committee's annual daffodil bulb and tree plantings.

Volunteers are needed for both projects. The committee will meet up with volunteers for the bulb planting at city hall at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9. The daffodils will be planted in the landscaped areas along Ga. Highway 54 near city hall.

The tree planting has been scheduled for Jan. 20 from 9 a.m. to noon. The planting site has not yet been finalized and a meeting place will be announced later.

Anyone interested in participating in one or both projects may contact Beautification Committee secretary/treasurer Betsy Tyler at 770-487-7657.

In the past decade, the beautification committee has added thousands of trees to the rights of way on Peachtree Parkway, Robinson Road and Flat Creek Road, along the banks of Lake Peachtree and at the Line Creek Nature Area. Last year's tree planting project helped reforest areas on South Peachtree Parkway at Crosstown Road and at the Braelinn Recreation Area.
