Starr's Mill teacher gets national kudos
Dr. Bob Covel, a teacher at Starr's Mill High School, has been recognized by the National Association for Gifted Children for his outstanding curriculum project for gifted students. Covel's project was entitled "Heroes: A Humanities Approach." He was one of just three individuals honored this month by NAGC at their annual convention in Atlanta, attended by more than 4,000 educators. NACG is a nonprofit organization that supports and develops policies and practices that encourage the diverse expressions of the nation's three million gifted children from all cultures, ethnic backgrounds and socioeconomic groups.
