The Peachtree City Recreation Commission will tackle the agency's master plan at its regular meeting Monday night at 6:30 p.m.

The master plan is a compilation of the various ways the department wants to expand services in the near future and improve current services. The plan will be continuously updated, said Randy Gaddo, the city's director of leisure services.

Since 1996, the department has tracked the number of participants in various sports, and those numbers will help guide what priority is given to certain projects, Gaddo said. The Recreation Commission will be working more on the plan in the coming months to prepare their recommendations for the retreat with the City Council in March.

The plan calls for the addition of more soccer, baseball and softball fields at various recreation areas, more parking at recreation facilities and a permanent enclosure around the Kedron Aquatic Facility. Also, the plan recommends more playgrounds and "tot lots" for recreation facilities and parks.

In addition, the plan calls for a 1,500-square-foot expansion of the Gathering Place and the conversion of Riley Field into a football and track complex.

The plan also has provisions for improving maintenance and security for current and future recreation facilities.
