North Fayette Elementary School will host A Taste of North Fayette Thursday at 7 p.m. Foods representing eight countries will be available for sampling. Local restaurants participating in the event include Wings and Things, El Parian, Baci Italian Restaurant, City Cafe and Bakery, Formosa Chinese Cafe and Cracker Barrel. Special treats will be prepared by the school's parents and teachers. Tickets are 50 cents per taste. Prior to dining, motivational speaker Earl Suttles will address the parents, teachers and students in attendance at 6 p.m. North Fayette Principal Louis Robinson said Suttles' forte is diversity training. One of the speaker's key topics is "enjoying excellence." He is the founder and CEO of Three E Corp., which stands for education, enthusiasm and empowerment. Suttles' appearance caps a week of inspirational speakers who have talked to North Fayette students about setting goals and being the best you can be. Well-known athletes who participated in the motivational series included Lee Haney, eight-time Mr. Olympia; Hugh Kirby, two-time National Football League champion and two-time national weight lifting champion, and Al Mead, para-Olympic gold medalist.
