Court Action

The following people recently pled guilty in Fayette County Superior Court and received the following sentences from Judges Johnnie L. Caldwell Jr. and Paschal A. English:

Richard Parker of Newnan for child molestation. Sentenced to three years in prison followed by seven years probation.

Jeffrey Bernard Hand of Peachtree City for two counts of child molestation and one count of sexual battery. Sentenced to 10 years in prison followed by five years probation.

James Sewall of Peachtree City for cruelty to children in the first degree. Sentenced to eight years probation, with the first year on intensive probation, and a $2,000 fine.

Ricky Strozier of College Park for two counts of violation of the Georgia controlled substances act (possession of cocaine). Sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Timothy Michael Moffett of Newnan for two counts of financial transaction card fraud. Sentenced to four years probation and a $1,500 fine.

Jermaine Vashon Jones of Atlanta for forgery in the first degree. Sentenced to five years in prison followed by two years probation.

Terrence Grays of Riverdale for burglary. Sentenced to three years in prison.

Tonya Ann McMillan of McDonough for forgery in the first degree. Sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Joe Lewis Williams of Fairburn for violation of the Georgia controlled substances act (possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute) and violation of the Georgia controlled substances act (possession of cocaine). Sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Kathryn E. Holme of Colorado Springs, Colo. for criminal trespassing. Sentenced under the first offender act to 12 months probation and a $500 fine.

Derick Wayne Stewart of Sunnyside for burglary. Sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Vionta Yancey of Riverdale for criminal attempt to commit burglary. Sentenced under the first offender act to five years in the diversion center and a $500 fine.

Cynthia Gail Knight of Nashville for violation of the Georgia controlled substances act (possession of heroin). Sentenced to five years probation, with the first year on intensive probation, and a $1,000 fine.

Troy Thompson of Atlanta for four counts forgery in the first degree, and one count each of forgery in the second degree, theft by deception, criminal attempt to commit theft by deception and theft of lost or mislaid property. Sentenced to five years probation and a $3,000 fine.

Justin Scott Ludwig of Peachtree City for violation of the Georgia controlled substances act (sale of marijuana). Sentenced to five years probation and a $1,500 fine.
