Variety is the spice of life By F.C. FOODIE They say variety is the spice of life, and nowhere is that more apparent than Grand Buffet VII in the Banks Crossing Shopping Center in Fayetteville. The restaurant has been open for just over two months and features more than 200 items served buffet style. While I'm usually not a big fun of all-you-can-eat places, Grand Buffet seems to be the exception in my book. One of the best items on the bar is Mongolian Barbecue, where you choose the items and watch them cooked on a huge grill right before your eyes. The restaurant itself is huge; it seats more than 300 people and also has a separate party room for 65. It's been moderately crowded the two times I've been there and it seems to be doing a decent lunch business. If you go for lunch, be sure to skip breakfast so you can sample some of the more unusual items offered in the county. I love the fluffy white buns filled with barbecue that you normally see served on dim sum carts along Buford Highway.
