Computer passwords stolen from McIntosh

A list of passwords to McIntosh High School's computer grading and e-mail systems was recently reported stolen from the school.

But there has been no evidence that the grading system or e-mail system has been tampered with, said Capt. Stan Pye of the Peachtree City Police Department, which investigated the incident.

The passwords have already been changed to prevent such problems, Pye added.

According to an incident report from the department, Principal Greg Stillions said the theft occurred over the span of three days, from Monday, Oct. 30 to Wednesday, Nov. 1. Pye said school officials indicated that a number of people could have had access to the room where the paperwork was kept, which makes it hard to identify the person responsible.

"As far as we know, none of the grades have been altered or tampered with," Pye said.
