Cedarcroft brings new construction style to area

Cedarcroft, the new community in the western part of Peachtree City, is introducing a new type of housing choice in the Fayette County area.

Ravin Homes, the builder/developer in the community, is bringing in the modular system housing, produced by Nationwide Homes, a 40-year-old company from Martinsville, VA. The homes in Cedarcroft will be produced in Nationwide's facility in Arabi, GA, then brought to the site in Peachtree City, where they will be completed by Ravin Homes.

James Seekford, vice president/builder sales for Nationwide Homes' operation in this area, said that system-built homes offer many advantages.

"They provide consistent quality, since they are designed and built in a climate-controlled environment, meaning that the interior of the home is never touched by harmful weather. In addition, these homes go through 300 quality inspections and third party inspection to ensure top quality," he explained.

"This type of housing is also very cost-effective," said Seekford. "Because they are constructed quicker, costs are controlled and kept at a minimum with the savings passed along to the homebuyer. Our homes also qualify for all mortgage programs, with the same mortgage rules and regulations applying to a Nationwide home as to a site-built home."

Another advantage is speed of construction. Seekford said the homes are delivered up to 90 percent complete and built in one-third of the time it normally takes to build a home.

"Construction is seldom delayed because of weather, subcontractor no-shows or missing material," he added.

"The homes from Nationwide also are energy efficient, engineered using the latest construction technology, which should save homeowners money on bills in the future," he said.

Seekford said that design flexibility provides a wide variety of house plans, and Cedarcroft will have both ranch and two-story plans. Many options are available to allow purchasers to customize their homes.

Michael Rossetti, Ravin Homes' president, said that available options which Ravin can provide include such items as cabinet selection, hardwood floors, jacuzzi tubs, ceramic tile baths, countertop color selections, and carpet selection.

Information about pre-sales in Cedarcroft can be obtained by calling Stephanie Griffith, the marketing representative for the 220-home community, at 770-487-9608.

Home prices in Cedarcroft start at $135,000, and Phase I has 64 homesites. The community is located off MacDuff Parkway, which runs off Ga. Highway 54 west of Ga. Highway 74 North, with St. Albans Way as the entrance road into the community.

The homes in Cedarcroft will contain from 1,300 to 2,000 sq. ft., and completion of the first homes in the community is expected early next year.
