Law enforcement officials have identified a Peachtree City man as the victim who was struck and killed by a train in Coweta County early Sunday morning.

Coweta County Sheriff Mike Yeager said the victim was Donnie Perry Blankenship, 24. Although his last known address is in Peachtree City, Blankenship had ties to the Coweta County area also, the sheriff said.

No foul play is suspected in the incident, and it has been determined that Blankenship was alive when the train struck him at approximately 12:46 a.m. Sunday, according to information released by the sheriff's office.

Witnesses said Blankenship was last seen leaving a party at a home just south of Palmetto on U.S. Highway 29 north on foot. Witnesses also told deputies that Blankenship had been drinking before the incident.
