News Briefs

"It seems like only yesterday that we opened our doors in Palmetto," said Fairbanco branch manager Terry Bright. "Our official anniversary date will be Nov. 15, but we will have specials and promotions running all week."

Fairbanco, better known as Fairburn Banking Company, opened its fourth location a year ago in the Chevron convenience center on U.S. Highway 29.

The bank is a full-service bank, complete with ATM and drive-through facilities.

Assistant branch manager Gloria Senn said the location makes it convenient to take care of banking business, gas up your car and pick up some grocery items all in one stop.

President Robert Fuller added his take on the new branch.

"We are very pleased with our results in our first year in Palmetto. Our new account and deposit growth has exceeded our expectations. We wish to thank the Palmetto community for making our first year successful."

• The Fairburn United Methodist Women group is staging a fall bazaar tomorrow from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Fairburn United Methodist Church.

The bazaar features crafts, homemade goodies, soup and cornbread and everyone is invited.
