FCHS students commended

Seven students from Fayette County High School have been named "Commended Students" in the 2001 National Merit Scholarship Program.

FCHS Principal Gary Phillips will present senior awardees Megan Cannon, Ryan Coram, Wanting Lin, Kathleen Sellers, Lydia Sherwin, Michael Spradlin and Taine Duncan with a letter of commendation.

These students are among 34,000 nationwide being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended students place among the top 5 percent or more than one million students who entered the 2001 merit program by taking the 1999 Preliminary SAT Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
