Atlanta Archbishop John F. Donoghue will dedicate St. Matthew Catholic Church in Tyrone on Sunday, Oct. 22 beginning at 2 p.m. with a celebration of the Mass.

The new church building is adjacent to Our Lady of Victory Catholic School in Tyrone, just off Ga. Highway 74 on Jenkins Road.

St. Matthew Catholic Church is also celebrating its 22nd year of service to the south Atlanta metro communities of College Park, Fairburn, Fayetteville, Newnan, Palmetto and Peachtree City. The church, pastored by the Rev. Leo Holleran, MS, was originally in Fairburn.

The fan-shaped church will have a 700-person seating capacity, expanding to 1,000 including the balcony. A 5,000-square foot administrative building is connected to the sanctuary.
