Chamber names leaders for 2001 The Newnan-Coweta Chamber of Commerce has elected its new officers and directors for 2001. Rod Drake, area manager of Georgia Power Company, was selected by the board to serve as chairman. Joe Crain Jr., vice president of Crain Oil Company, was elected vice chairman and Sam Jones, publisher of the Times-Herald, will serve as treasurer. Elected as at large members were Melvin Samuels, manager of the Georgia Department of Labor's Newnan office, and Scott Cummins, partner in the law firm of Cummins and Kneidel. Tom Dunlap, CEO of Farmers and Merchants Community Bank, will remain on the board for a year after serving as chairman this past year. Additionally, the chamber announced the addition of five new directors who will serve three year terms: Mike Barber, BB&T Bank. Don Moore, William L. Bonnell. Steve Stripling, Bank of Coweta. Dr. Gerald Troutman. Lamar Wright, McKoon Funeral Home. Continuing to serve on the board through 2001 are: Bud Freeburg, Lindsay's Realty. Otis Jones III, Matrix Insurance. Bill Loftin, Bleyle. Mike Yeager, Coweta County Sheriff. Directors serving through 2002 are: Walter Arnall, Harwell, Brown & Arnall. Doug Cantrell, Belk. Harold McCoy, Bank of America. Jeff Strane, Newnan Utilities.
